Bloodborne Pathogens: Managing the Risks from Sharps

Sharps injuries are a well-known hazard for healthcare workers. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that there are over 1000 sharps injuries every day in the US alone. While not all sharps injuries are preventable, the number can be significantly reduced by following a sharps management program. This training aims to help healthcare workers understand and manage the risks from sharps injuries.
